About JKKP
Jabatan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan (JKKP) Malaysia ialah sebuah Jabatan di bawah Kementerian Sumber Manusia (KESUMA). Jabatan bertanggungjawab untuk memastikan keselamatan, kesihatan dan kebajikan orang yang sedang bekerja, dan melindungi orang lain daripada bahaya-bahaya keselamatan dan kesihatan yang berpunca daripada aktiviti pekerjaan bagi semua tempat kerja di seluruh Malaysia termasuk dalam perkhidmatan awam dan pihak berkuasa berkanun, except for jobs specified in the First Schedule of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514) namely:
1. Employment of domestic work in relation to a person who takes the work of another person, or who is employed, as a domestic worker within the meaning of the Employment Act 1955 [Act 265];
2. Military forces; and
3. Employment on board ships governed by the Merchant Shipping Ordinance 1952 [Ord. No. 70 of 1952], Merchant Shipping Ordinance 1960 (Sabah) [Ord. No. 11 of 1960] or the Merchant Shipping Ordinance 1960 (Sarawak) [Ord. No. 2 of 1960].
As a government agency, the department is responsible for the administration and enforcement of legislations related to occupational safety and health of the country, with a vision of becoming an organisation which leads the nation in creating a safe and healthy work culture that contributes towards enhancing the quality of working life.

Objective
Mencegah kemalangan industri dan penyakit pekerjaan menjelang tahun 2030 seperti berikut:
Kadar Kecederaan Maut Pekerjaan : Mengurangkan kadar kecederaan maut pekerjaan kepada 2.20 kes bagi setiap 100,000 pekerja menjelang tahun 2030
Kadar Kecederaan Pekerjaan : Menurunkan kadar kecederaan pekerjaan kepada 1.60 kecederaan pekerjaan bagi setiap 1,000 pekerja menjelang tahun 2030
Kadar Penyakit Pekerjaan : Keberhasilan intervensi dan penilaian kesihatan pekerjaan akan mencatatkan kadar penyakit pekerjaan pada 59.8 bagi setiap 100,000 pekerja menjelang tahun 2030

Function
- Conducting studies, research, development and technical analysis on occupational safety and health issues that exist in workplaces.
- Enforce the following laws:
- Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and regulations made thereunder.
- Part of the Petroleum (Safety Measures) Act 1984 and regulations made thereunder.
- Conducting technical studies and analyses on occupational safety issues that exist in workplaces.
- Conducting incentive and publicity programs for employers, employees and the public to foster and increase their awareness of occupational safety and health.
- Providing advisory and information services to government and private agencies regarding management and technical aspects related to occupational safety and health.
- Serves as the secretariat for the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health.
