Forensic engineering department

  • Conducting investigations into accidents at construction sites and engineering works such as structural failures of buildings
  • Determine failure analysis tests on materials, processes related to construction sites and engineering work
  • Store and update forensic engineering data related to the types of structures and materials used at construction sites
  • Review, evaluate and provide advisory services to state offices on previous accident cases (cold cases)
  • Becoming an expert witness in court
  • Conducting investigations into accident cases involving machinery or mechanical systems 
  • Determine failure analysis tests on materials, processes related to steam boiler machinery, unfired pressure vessels and other pressure vessels 
  • Store and update forensic engineering data related to mechanical machinery and materials 
  • Review, evaluate and provide advisory services to state offices on previous accident cases (cold cases)
  • Becoming an expert witness in court
  • Conducting investigations into accidents involving petrochemical plants and installations
  • Conducting failure analysis tests on process systems in the plant such as chemical reaction parameters involving explosions, leaks and fires.  
  • Store and update forensic engineering data related to petrochemical plants and installations 
  • Review, evaluate and provide advisory services to state offices on accident cases (cold cases)
  • Becoming an expert witness in court
  • Manage tests and analyses from other sections or state DOSH offices (external testing laboratories such as the Nuclear Agency, IKRAM and IPTA)
  • Conducting analysis and testing of evidence to assist in investigations
  • Issuing laboratory analysis reports and expert reports
  • Ensure that the chain of custody is adhered to (store and custody management)
  • Applying forensic engineering methods and technologies to assist and enhance the capacity, application and reliability of analysis of accident evidence
  • Becoming an expert witness in court
  • Conducting research on mechanical, plant, system or process failures to establish specific methods to prevent similar incidents from recurring
  • Produce new improvements at all levels starting from material selection, design, construction methods, operating methods, inspection aspects and maintenance processes
  • Carry out computerized analysis such as finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics for accident case analysis
  • Manage training and strengthen investigative teams at the operational level in state offices
  • Becoming an expert witness in court
