Industrial and ergonomic hygiene department

Introduction

The Industrial Hygiene Division carries out the following work activities:

  • Implement activities to recognize competent persons (OYK) and responsible persons (OYB).
  • Carrying out approval activities on personal protective equipment, industrial hygiene monitoring equipment, engineering controls, audiometric testing centers and analytical laboratories and processes hazardous to health.
  • Identify industrial hygiene and ergonomic hazards and provide assessment and monitoring methods to be implemented by state offices.
  • Plan and monitor Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics activities of state offices.
  • Carrying out maintenance activities and calibration of the department's industrial hygiene and ergonomic equipment.
  • Processing new and renewal registration applications for Industrial Hygiene Competent Persons (OYK).
    •  Noise Risk Assessment (NRA) 
    • Hygiene Technician II (HT2) 
    • Certified Gas Tester & Entry Supervisor (AGTES) 
  • Monitor the performance of Industrial Hygiene OYKs (NRA, HT2, AGTES) based on the work reports they provide, interviews at the DOSH office or observations at the workplace. 
  • Process new registration applications and renewals for Teaching Centres and Teaching Staff for: 
    • Safe Working in Confined Spaces Course (AGTES and AESP Courses) 
    • Noise Risk Assessment (NRA) Course 
    • Hygiene Technician Course II (HT2)
  • Monitor the performance of Teaching Centers and Teaching Staff for AGTES and AESP Courses, NRA Courses and HT2 Courses. 
  • Formulate modules and implement industrial hygiene competency courses for JKKP employees.
  • Develop and review standards related to Industrial Hygiene Training Centers and OYK 
  • Supervise and maintain the Industrial Hygiene OYK database on the Department's website. 
  • Collect and analyze Industrial Hygiene OYK monitoring data conducted by state offices.
  • Processing applications for approval of personal protective equipment (KPD) and audiometric testing centers (PUA). 
  • Develop and review standards related to KPD and PUA. 
  • Monitor agencies that inspect/test KPD. 
  • Investigating complaints on matters related to KPD and PUA 
  • Providing expert assistance and equipment for industrial hygiene research studies. 
  • Plan and implement hazard control training/courses. 
  • Provide technical specifications for the purchase of personal protective equipment according to current needs. 
  • Providing advisory services and guidelines regarding hazard control. 
  • Manages the Industrial Hygiene & Ergonomics Division's personal protective equipment for department use.
  • Supervise and record consumables and capital assets entering/exiting at the Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics Division equipment store. 
  • Disposal of Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics monitoring equipment. 
  • Planning and coordinating the measurement and verification of Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomic equipment at Headquarters and State Offices. 
  • Ensure that the Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics Division's equipment is functioning properly and maintained. 
  • Exhibition of Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomic equipment. 
  • Advisory services, technical assistance.
  • Provide technical specifications for equipment purchases. 
  • Collection of equipment usage data at the headquarters.
  • Processing applications for Registration of Teaching Centers and Teaching Personnel for Ergonomic Management Courses and Ergonomic Trained Persons. 
  • Monitor the performance of Teaching Centers, Course Instructors and Ergonomic Trained Persons 
  • Conduct ergonomic risk assessments in the workplace. 
  • Implement ergonomic technical assistance to State DOSH and the Public Sector (as needed). 
  • Coordinate the Hygiene Industry Section Head Meeting (KaSIH). 
  • Collect, prepare and maintain a database of achievements of the Industrial Hygiene Section at the State Office. 
  • Planning and implementing courses and training under the scope of HIE. 
  • Technical support in monitoring / hazard monitoring at the State Office. 
  • Monitoring/research studies on HIE and new hazards. 
  • Investigation/monitoring of complaints related to HIE. 
  • Develop and improve HIE checklists. 
  • Develop Hazard Management Procedure (HazMep) for HIE. 
  • Develop ergonomic compliance standards, guidelines and codes of practice. 
  • Ergonomics promotion program. 
  • Identify and prepare specifications for ergonomic equipment for the purpose of ergonomic inspections in the workplace.
