  • Monitoring notification of occupational diseases and occupational poisoning cases and assisting in the investigation of these cases in the respective states.
  • Analysing reported occupational diseases and poisoning cases data, streamlining them with the data from other relevant agencies and subsequently preparing the national occupational diseases and poisoning statistics.
  • Providing input on occupational health related issues to other government agencies, departments or ministries.
  • Promote and monitor the implementation of the Code of Practice on the Prevention and Management of HIV/AIDS in the Workplace, as well as the Code of Practice on the Prevention and Eradication of Drug, Alcohol and Substance Abuse in the Workplace.
  • Planning and organizing seminars, workshops and courses to promote occupational health knowledge and awareness.
  • Investigating occupational disease cases for ex-gratia compensation of government employees on request basis from the Ministry of Finance. ex-gratia government employees when there is an application from the Malaysian Ministry of Finance.
  • Conducting Basic Occupational Health Program (BOH), particularly in the Small and Medium Industries.
  • Conducting Health Screening Programs (MyHess) and organizing First Aid Programs at the workplace for Department staff
