Occupational Medicine Section
- Monitor notifications of occupational diseases and occupational poisoning and assist in the investigation of such cases at the state level.
- Analyze occupational disease and occupational poisoning data reported to the Department, coordinate related data from other agencies involved, and subsequently provide national occupational disease and occupational poisoning statistics.
- Provide input on occupational health issues to other government agencies, departments or ministries.
- Promote and monitor the implementation of the Code of Practice on the Prevention and Management of HIV/AIDS in the Workplace, as well as the Code of Practice on the Prevention and Eradication of Drug, Alcohol and Substance Abuse in the Workplace.
- Planning and conducting seminars, workshops, and courses to promote occupational health awareness.
- Conducting occupational disease investigations for compensation ex-gratia government employees when there is an application from the Malaysian Ministry of Finance.
- Carrying out Basic Occupational Health (BOH) Programs, especially in the Small and Medium Industry sector.
- Conducting Health Screening Programs (MyHess) and organizing First Aid Programs at the workplace for Department staff
