REVIEW AND COMPOSITION UNIT

  • Drafting and preparing drafts of Acts, Regulations, Orders, Industry Codes of Practice, Guidelines and Circulars of the NEW Director General including carrying out work to collect information requirements (results of research), preparing and reviewing drafts for drafting purposes.
  • Review and amend EXISTING Acts, Regulations, Orders, Industry Codes of Practice, Guidelines and Circulars of the Director General. The review includes in terms of weaknesses, suitability of current conditions and improvements that can be made to further strengthen the said Acts, Regulations, Orders, Industry Codes of Practice, Guidelines and Circulars of the Director General.
  • Part of the Review Team for the purpose of reviewing draft Acts/Regulations/Orders/Industry Codes of Practice/Guidelines, proofreading and reviewing/translating the drafts.
  • Coordination to coordinate and maintain TC/WG established for the development of Malaysian Standards/Guidelines/Codes of Practice by external agencies (JSM, SIRIM, MITI, MOFA, KDN, MBAM, NIOSH, NRE, KKM, MQA, AADK-KKM, SPAN, CIDB, KPDNKK, Petronas, JPK and others).
  • Coordinate the review of proposed draft Malaysian Standards/Guidelines related to OSH.
  • Focal point for the management and coordination of information from the “WTO TBT Enquiry Point (Malaysia)” – JSM, MITI.
  • Review or conduct research on other standards for the purpose of the benchmarking process before setting departmental policies or guidelines.
  • Act as the secretariat for the Department Policy Review Meeting.
