Steam Engineer Training Center
Based on the legal provisions in Section 29 of the Factories and Machinery Act, it states that certain machinery cannot be operated without certified personnel. Section 29 (2) states that no person can operate certified machinery such as steam boilers without having the competence as an engineer and driver.
In this regard, it is the duty of all engineers to apply for competency from the Steam Engineer from the department to enable them to operate steam boilers found in the industry.
To ensure that these steam engineer candidates are prepared for the department's assessment process, steam engineer candidates will be required to attend a formal course on steam boilers and responsibilities as a steam engineer first.
Therefore, to ensure that the standards of training provided by training providers can be controlled, recognition will be given to training providers who meet the criteria set by the department.
