The Division also strives to promote occupational health practices and health protection in all places of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Occupational health promotion among employers as well as employees is imperative in encouraging safe and healthy work practices and ultimately may result in occupational disease-free workplaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">The Occupational Health Division consists of Medical Officers, Head Nurses, and Health Inspectors. It is divided into two (2) sections, namely the Accreditation Section and Occupational Medicine Section.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-accordion alignnone\"><div class=\"kt-accordion-wrap kt-accordion-id940_2bb57a-57 kt-accordion-has-2-panes kt-active-pane-0 kt-accordion-block kt-pane-header-alignment-left kt-accodion-icon-style-basic kt-accodion-icon-side-right\" style=\"max-width:none\"><div class=\"kt-accordion-inner-wrap\" data-allow-multiple-open=\"false\" data-start-open=\"none\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-pane kt-accordion-pane kt-accordion-pane-1 kt-pane940_0717ad-98\"><div class=\"kt-accordion-header-wrap\"><button class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-header kt-acccordion-button-label-show\" type=\"button\"><span class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-title-wrap\"><span class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-title\">Occupational Medicine Section<\/span><\/span><span class=\"kt-blocks-accordion-icon-trigger\"><\/span><\/button><\/div><div class=\"kt-accordion-panel kt-accordion-panel-hidden\"><div class=\"kt-accordion-panel-inner\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover class=\"has-small-font-size\">Monitoring notification of occupational diseases and occupational poisoning cases and assisting in the investigation of these cases in the respective states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Analysing reported occupational diseases and poisoning cases data, streamlining them with the data from other relevant agencies and subsequently preparing the national occupational diseases and poisoning statistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Providing input on occupational health related issues to other government agencies, departments or ministries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Promoting the adoption and monitoring the implementation of the Code of Practice on Prevention of HIV \/ AIDS at the Workplace, and the Code of Practice on Prevention and Elimination of Drugs, Alcohol and Substance Abuse in The Workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Planning and organizing seminars, workshops and courses to promote occupational health knowledge and awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Investigating occupational disease cases for ex-gratia compensation of government employees on request basis from the Ministry of Finance. <em>ex-gratia<\/em> government employees when there is an application from the Malaysian Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Conducting Basic Occupational Health Program (BOH), particularly in the Small and Medium Industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Conducting Health Screening Program (MyHeSS) and organizing Basic Occupational First Aid Programme for DOSH officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list class=\"has-small-font-size\">Registering Occupational Health Doctors (OHD) and renewing their competency certificates under Section 31C and 31E of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Monitoring of occupational health activities by the OHDs, particularly the Medical Surveillance Programme, audiometric testing, and notification of occupational diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Conducting workplace investigations pertaining to Medical Surveillance Programmes, especially adherence to the Medical Removal Protection (MRP) and other aspects of occupational health legal requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Planning and organizing seminars, courses, or dialogues to promote occupational health awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Providing advisory services to state offices, external agencies, occupational health (OH) practitioners, OSH practitioners and the public regarding health issues related to employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list
