Regulation 26 (3) also states that \u201cthe machinery in respect of which a notice is issued as described in paragraph (1) above shall be operated in full compliance with the conditions stated in the notice or note. In the Director General\u2019s Circular Number 12 of 1999 (Directive on Registration of Scaffolding Operators and Crane Operators), item 5(c) states that based on accident statistics involving tall cranes and the above provisions (Regulation 26(3) of the Factories and Machinery (Notification, Certificate of Qualification and Inspection) Regulations 1970), the YB Minister of Human Resources has directed the Department of Health and Welfare to require that all mobile cranes, derricks and towers be operated by competent persons who have attended a recognised crane operator course. Therefore, the Department of Health and Welfare is now enforcing this directive by recording the conditions for operating cranes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-small-font-size\">The validity of the competency certificate issued by DOSH is 2 years and applications for registration and renewal must be made within one year after passing the assessment or the expiry date of the competency certificate.
